The Conference will take place in the historical centre of Nuremberg near the medieval castle dominating the city. Nuremberg can be easily reached by plane; a short underground rail link connects the local airport with the old town. Alternatively, you may consider arriving at Frankfurt or Munich airports, from which Nuremberg is reachable in about two hours by train or by car.
The venue offers lots of opportunities for sightseeing to attendants and accompanying persons interested in historical and artistic attractions, like renaissance works by Albrecht Dürer and Veit Stoss. Among the technological highlights of the Franconian region are the first German railway dating 1835 and the first German driverless underground, hopefully ready for the start of the Conference.
Participants appreciating Bavarian drinks, food and music may like to know that the traditional Oktoberfest will open in Munich right after conclusion of SAFECOMP 2007. So a well deserved weekend visit to the South of Bavaria could be considered.
